Medical

If a child becomes unwell or is hurt in the playground during the course of the day, a member of staff qualified in first aid will attend to them. If necessary, parents/carers will be contacted and asked to take the child home, therefore it is vital that the school has an up-to-date emergency contact number for your child.

The school should be advised of any medical condition affecting your child. Pupils with asthma pumps keep these with them in the classroom/First Aid Room. It is school policy that no member of staff administers medicines to children. Medicines (including aspirin, paracetamol etc) may not be brought to school. When a child has a long-term chronic medical condition, a Care Plan is written with the help of the parents. The school medical policy is available from the office.

Please keep us updated with your child's medical matters.
